- My style of painting is bold and direct. I feel the energy from this alla prima approach is reflected in my work. Most of my paint mixes on the paper and not in the palette, creating a more luminous effect. Breakthroughs have happened in my paintings by learning how to truly "see" and simplify. Over the years, shapes, edges and color have become more important to me than subject matter.
