Description

Excerpted from the website description:

“Dario’s rhythmic drive is fully charged and now places him in a groove of his own.” – Ronny Jordan. Argentine born pianist and composer Dario Boente is probably one of the most versatile musicians In New York City. In his persona, Dario combines two aspects not always seen together nowadays. He is a serious and disciplined composer and pianist with a detailed knowledge of harmony and form, at the same time a thoroughly modern and street smart person, sharp and energetic, with an unmistakably mischievous edge. These qualities are highly evident in his performances and compositions, as the rich harmony and lyrical melodies in a variety of moods are underpinned by a charge rhythmic drive, giving the music its broad appeal. Dario started his Jazz performance studies at Berklee College of Music, and he continued his classical studies at The Guildhall School of Music in London. He completed his studies at The New School University in New York and achieved a degree in composition. In the early 90’s, Boente toured the Euro circuit playing “Big Joe Turner” as his keyboard player and musical director, with pop band Imagination, with spanish flamenco singer "Jose el Frances", making dance tracks, and performing in the major Jazz festivals. In 1999, Dario moved to New York City. Since then, he has released three Cd’s as a leader, featuring well know Jazz musicians as drummer Antonio Sanchez (from Pat Metheny Group), drummer Victor Jones (Stan Getz, Chaka Khan), guitarist Ronny Jordan, flutist Jorge Pardo (Paco de Lucia, Chick Corea), among others. Currently, Dario is a member of Grammy winning Louie Vega’s “Elements of Life” , plays with Grammy nominee Ronny Jordan and works in the studio with R&B multi grammy award winner Joshua Thompson. As a side man, Dario played and recorded with Ximo Tebar, Mino Cinelu, Frank Lacy’s “13 Piece Band” and Victor Jones’s “Culturversy.” He performed piano duets with Dave Kikoski and Richie Beirach, and played keyboard on Big Joe Turner’s European tour. Dario has performed in more than 14 countries worldwide and his compositions have been included in several albums and compilations. Dario resides in New York City.
