Darwin Clayton was established in 1920 as an Independent Insurance Broker when Edgar Charles Darwin Clayton opened an office in the City of London to provide insurance broking services to those companies with specific and sometimes difficult needs. From the outset, the desire of the founders was to establish bonds of trust, both with clients and underwriters alike and a reputation was built which formed the bedrock of the firm's subsequent and continued success.
Though Darwin Clayton's client portfolio has grown dramatically since the early days, the strength of personal and enduring relationships and long term contacts remains of paramount importance.
Our status has not changed since the day we were formed and our independence allows us to be totally impartial and to claim to be one of the largest and longest established Independent Insurance Brokers in the United Kingdom. The bonds of trust we have established enable us to have a special rapport with insurers who provide the often difficult covers at premiums which are competitive in the market.
