I began my computer career in 1986, working part-time after school for a small company in Beaverton, Oregon. I progressed with that company for over 7 years, moving from occasional tech support all the way through to oversight of the small development group there. At the end of my tenure, the company was supporting a vertical market application for nursing homes with over 600 installations throughout the United States.
In early 1994, I moved to Las Vegas to work in the Gaming (Casino) industry. I quickly rose from a staff developer position to eventually lead the development department at that company. When I left the company in 1996, they were supporting over 90 installations of multi-million dollar system packages in casinos across North America.
