Description
Davie Hyman Designs are custom, hand-painted, one-of-a-kind needlepoint canvases for individuals and ecclesiastic organizations. Davie handled all her clients personally from consultation through design, color, fiber and stitch selection to the completion of a finished product.
Over the past 30 years she studied with many of the top national teachers at seminars and workshops to perfect her knowledge and experience enabling her to receive the Certification in Canvas Embroidery by the Embroiderers’ Guild of America. She gained national recognition through the wide spread acknowledgment and acceptance of her book The Diagonal Basketweave and mentored her artist Linda McGinnis for 36 years. Linda continues to work with clients on a personal basis through the design portion right on to the finished product.
In 2001 Davie was diagnosed with cancer and lost her battle in March of 2008. Linda has taken over the business and been designing and painting on her own for the past 6 years. She has continued Davie's work in needlepoint and design doing buisness as Davie Hyman Designs.
