- When I was a little girl, I used to sit outside at dusk and watch the sunshine turn to darkness -- this was the simple beginning of my study of light. I can trace my love of color and texture back to savoring the yarn and color cards I collected as a pre-teen knitter. These kinesthetic and visual pleasures, from yarn to paint, are part of my childhood and heritage. I feel uplifted when I look at good art. I paint to share beauty and stillness, to express the magical and the mysterious. It is for me an experience of communing with something greater than myself, and wanting to share it.
