Description
The Delaware Arts Festival first made its debut in May, 1973. It was the brainchild of several local artists & residents who wanted to showcase the work of many talented individuals in and around Ohio. The festival now has over 170 fine arts & craft exhibits, food and entertainment.
2003 will be our 30th anniversay and the first 2 day festival. We are working with the Bicentennial Committee to combine the festival and the Delaware County Bell dedication. The celebration will take place the first weekend after Mother's Day in the newly renovated downtown in the City of Delaware. Enjoy unique strolling performers, children's activities, artist demonstrations....fun for the whole family!! We also feature a Student Art Show at our Library that spotlights a variety of very talented high school students in Delaware County.
The Delaware Arts Festival proceeds benefit artistic students of Delaware County. The main objective is to underwrite scholarships for Delaware County high school students entering college in the visual arts. More than 50 students have benefited from these scholarships! A yearly donation is given to the Delaware County District Library.
