The Delaware County Fair has a long and solid tradition of not only providing an enjoyable way for people to exchange ideas, demonstrate skills and exhibit products, but also providing a great source of family recreation, entertainment, and learning. The Fair has additionally played host to a week of the greatest harness racing in the world, capped off by the prestigious Little Brown Jug on Thursday and the World Finals of the American Tractor Puller’s Association on Friday and Saturday evening as well as hundreds of exhibits from our junior and senior fair participants.
2004 marked the fifty-ninth year of the historic Little Brown Jug, and what a week of racing we witnessed! From the win by Royal Mattjesty, with a time of 1:50.0 in the $102,750 Magical Mike Pace, and the win by Glowing Report in the Jugette, to Timesareachanging winning the jug in 1:51.3, this was harness racing at its absolute finest. With over $2,000,000 in total purses, the star-studded tradition is an event that harness racing fans can’t afford to miss.
