About Us

First of all let us say that DEMBloggers thanks Markos of Daily Kos as well as Jerome and Chris of MyDD for breaking ground and helping to make blogging what it is today. This is taking nothing away from the other people but they were the first to use a Scoop based site.

Brian Hopkins and Mark Williams both worked on smaller blogs before deciding to open the DEMbloggers community. DEMbloggers was created in 2005 after much discussion. We created the site in order to give everyone another voice in the world of politics. While we are not trying to compete with any other blog we want to show that the Democrat Party is basically the "Big Tent Party". Also, just to point this out we are not affiliated with the Democrat Party.

While we are still "new" to the blogging world we are constantly growing and working with our community to be the best out there. Earlier in ’05 we went to DC to interview those in places of power. We felt it was time for the bloggers to be taken as seriously as everyone else. You can view our interviews below:
