It is almost ten years ago that Finn first came to do sound for us at a festival on the Isle of Arran in Scotland. At that time we really didn't know him very well at all. We knew he was from Offaly and that he had come to Sligo some years before where he played in several bands. We also knew he was a very good sound engineer from all accounts, but that was pretty much all.
During those first concerts together we quickly discovered the kind of person Finn was : professional and talented at what he did ; dedicated and hardworking - he took pains to get things right. Above all he had great humour and an easy charming manner which was a pleasure to be around.
Any success Dervish have achieved owes so much to Finn. He shaped the sound we made. He was a respected opinion when musical arrangements were being put together. He was the first to tell us when we played poorly, or overdid things. He was a wise head when it came to business decisions.
