Description
In the early 1950's it began to grow and encompassed Hotels, Guest Houses and Bed & Breakfasts but in the 30 years to the mid 1980's in reduced in size as the Leisure and Hotel industry changed direction.
By the late 1980's new stronger foundations were laid for what we have today. New rules were agreed to allow Hotels outside the Exeter City boundaries to become members thus giving more empowerment to the Association, not only as a group of like minded Hoteliers but for purchasing, marketing and most importantly being a catalyst to influence and lobby Government (regional and national) and regional tourism bodies such as South West Tourism and the RDA.
Today we have in excess of 40 members from small 2 star country house hotels to Exeter City Centre and Sidmouth 4 star Hotels.
