Zen priest Myogen Steve Stucky received dharma transmission as a mature zen teacher from Abbot Sojun Mel Weitsman in 1993 in the lineage of Shuryu Suzuki Roshi. He is the senior teacher of Dharma Eye Zen Centers in Marin and Sonoma Counties..
He has been practicing zen for thirty years and is one of the original members of the elders council at San Francisco Zen Center. Besides training at Tassajara and San Francisco, he landscaped the organic vegetable farm development at Green Gulch Zen Temple, where he was in residence for seven years in the 70's.
Dharma Eye Zen Circle grew out of a meditation group that met in his home for many years. The community built a small zendo and temple in San Rafael where we practiced for 10 years. The zendo has moved to Rohnert Park, and now offers meditation practice and retreats at various locations in Marin County.
