To support this I have written a book on the Scriptural view of marriage and divorce, and the subsequent restoration to God after repentance and forgiveness of any sin that may have helped contributed to the divorce. This book takes the position that no termination of marriage can be without sin. This includes termination by death as well as divorce and separation. However the focus should not be on punishment, but on restoration. Not on condemnation, but on repentance and forgiveness. We see that the majority of current Christian views on the subject totally confuse the difference between separation and divorce. This leads to totally wrong conclusions about Scriptural aspects of marriage, and what Scripture states when it terminates. Though the end of a marriage, for whatever reason, is the result of sin. Never the less it is not the unforgivable sin, and the partners can move on in God's forgiveness. Under this circumstance anyone who tries to prohibit further marriage is going against the specific Scripture that addresses this condition in 1 Timothy 4:3. The main objective of the treatise is to show those in this situation that though it must be acknowledged that the end of a marriage (divorce or widowhood) is the result of sin, God is still there to care for and guide those who love Him. As such guilt can be dealt with, and life can continue in a godly manner.
