CARPENTER HOUSE is the name of the office and conference building for the bishops and their staff serving the Diocese of Alabama. It is located at 521 North 20th Street in downtown Birmingham (next to the Cathedral Church of the Advent).
Carpenter House is named for Bishop Charles Carpenter, the 6th Bishop of Alabama, serving as diocesan bishop from 1938 to 1968. His grave site is in the Cathedral Garden next to Carpenter House.
