Description
Who am I?
Good question and one that's taken me the best part of a third of a century to work out. The easy answers are that my name's Richard, I live in the UK and am a bit of a wannabee polyglot. Never quite got past intermediate.
Work
I've worked in a number of different fields: education, publishing, and web development, but it's the last one that gets me at the moment. Although I've probably lost a couple of years from my natural life due to spending too many of the twilight hours hunched over my keyboard, it's the one area that provides the means to satisfy a lust for creativity, logic, and challenges.
Travel
Of all the countries I've lived in and travelled through I've got to say that Japan is the one that tops them all. Despite having an inordinately difficult language to get your tongue round, the lifestyle, especially in Tokyo, is right up there. Cheaper than London (don't believe what you read in the newspapers), cleaner than New York, and a darn sight more friendly than either, Japan has to be on everyone's list of countries to spend some time in.
