- DJ's Candles was started in 2003 by Danny Jones. He was wondering what to do for his family & friends for Christmas. A couple of years earlier a friend had bought him a votive starter kit, so he decided to give his friends & family candles as gifts. The votives and pillars he made were loved by everyone. Two of his sisters wanted him to make more and give them out to their co-workers and friends. Within a week Danny was taking order after order. He was overwhelmed. In the summer of 2004 Danny started taking candles to local the Flea Market and selling them. Customers were buying them and by the next weekend were coming back for more. A few simple Christmas gifts turned into a full time job.
