Description
Romancing the grape! We made the transition from casual wine consumers to full-fledged wine enthusiasts after attending an El Dorado Winery Association Passport Weekend event. The charm and potential of this small, but emerging wine region captured our imagination.
Growing grapes and making wine is an intriguing combination of farming, science, artistic creativity and business. With some coaching and mentoring from our friends at nearby wineries, we purchased a vineyard, founding Pratt Vineyards in 1997.
Pratt Vineyards is nestled amongst California's Sierra foothills near the southern El Dorado County community of Fair Play. The vineyard consists of 25 year old Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Semillon vines spanning almost 10 acres at an elevation of 2700 feet.
