Description
Thomas J. Donovan’s mission as Chittenden County State’s Attorney will be to create and maintain an environment of lawful behavior, safety, security and justice for the people of Chittenden County. DONOVAN will make certain the State’s Attorney’s office uses lawful and reasonable methods to successfully prosecute those who commit crimes. When crimes occur, DONOVAN will diligently pursue the conviction of those individuals responsible, and at the same time respect all constitutional safeguards for the accused. This will be accomplished through cooperation with law enforcement agencies at the local, county, state and federal levels, and with the assistance of the community as a whole. DONOVAN’s education and experience makes him the right person to be the most effective advocate for the State of Vermont and the People of Chittenden County. As State’s Attorney for Chittenden County, DONOVAN will vigorously pursue three primary goals while in office: To ensure safer communities, to hold offenders accountable, and to provide exemplary victim services.
