Baby strollers recalled December 18, 2009
Dorel Juvenile Group Inc., the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced the recall of 447,000 Dorel baby carriers on December 18, 2009, after Dorel received reports of the carrying handle coming partially or all the way off at least 77 baby carriers. At least three babies were injured.
The baby carrier is made to function both as a car seat and as part of a stroller. There's no risk unless the handle is used to carry the baby in the carrier shell, according to a Dorel representative. The CPSC said the carrier can still be used as a car seat.
