From the South Bay of Los Angeles comes the band DREADSTARR, an international collective that has exploded onto the LA music scene with it’s high-energy, dance-hall / rock sound. DREADSTARR has built a loyal fan-base by performing at numerous high-profile events and some of Southern California’s top venues. Through online, e-mail, myspace and grassroots marketing, DREADSTARR has empowered it’s fan-base to play an interactive role in the band’s success. Since the release of the band’s single “Raise Ya Hands” in 2005, DREADSTARR has headlined Santa Anita's Sunshine Millions Event which was featured on CBS, KCRW's Fridays Off The 405 at The Getty Center, supported Steel Pulse at the Waikiki Shell and was featured on the Surf Roots Compilation w/ Damian Marley, Pepper, Michael Franti and more. By the end of it’s second year together, Music Connection named DREADSTARR one of the “Top 100 Unsigned Artists of 2005”. DREADSTARR spent the next year in the studio recording the band’s debut release. On 3.24.07, DREADSTARR celebrated the release of it’s debut self-titled album with a sold out show at The Roxy in Hollywood, CA. The album is now available on iTunes worldwide and at all DREADSTARR shows. Recorded at Phantom Vox Studios, in Los Angeles by Seth Atkins Horan (Draco Rosa, Chris Pierce, Kinky) and mastered at Lurssen Mastering in Los Angeles by two-time Grammy winner Gavin Lurssen (Green Day, U2, Ben Harper), the album paints vivid pictures of lost love, soul searching and the tragedy of war. With the debut album complete, DREADSTARR is ready to share it’s music with the world.
