History
Since October 2002, the founders of DrTAB, Inc. have been inventing, defining and building EMR Frameworks that enabled physicians to automate work-flows, reduce or eliminate dictations, streamline process while capturing and documenting the doctor / patient interaction. Capturing this interaction results in the maximization of their collected compensation for services rendered. Dr. Gregory Barnhill and Jimmy Standaert had the epiphany of providing a reason and a way for physicians to remain focused on the patient and not the business.
DrTAB does not dictate patient care…rather; it reflects the individual physician’s vision of proper patient care. Collecting the data from the Doctor/Patient interaction (DPI) is part of correct clinical care; not as a separate task, rather a byproduct of proper patient care. DrTAB helps “Doctors be Doctors” TM by:
- reducing Revenue Cycle with same-day claim submission
- documenting real-time at the Point-of-Care - DPI (doctor/patient interactions)
- dramatically improving documentation that supports higher billing levels
Products
Tablet PC Application
The Tablet Application is the most productive and dynamic module of the entire system...if you are a Doctor. All medical data is presented in a user defined format, with many possibilities for display. Within an exam, the tablet can be used to create images that are literally made from a pen and paper
The exam also has a highly evolved selection sequence, incorporating many methods for selecting which medical situations are present, and which are not. Referral letters can be automatically generated from the previous input sections and the selection of the referral. Also, prescriptions for the patient in the exam, can be created as simply as selecting the drug, dosage, and quantity. Upon completion, the exam generates the EMR and automatically saves it to the database. The user is usually given an option to print which pages they would like before moving on. The TabletPC application allows users to realize a ROI within 4 months
Receptionist Module
The Receptionist/Scheduling Application currently gives the user access to the patient’s previous records, such as Full Name, Address, Date of Birth, Social Security Number, and the ability to view previous exams and scanned forms. It is from here where a New Patient is brought into and scheduled within the system. It also provides the ability to schedule an appointment and prepare a patient’s records for a new exam to which will be created by the Tablet Application.
This application provides a easy to use Calendar for both the patient’s visits and the personal schedule of the physicians. It is the Receptionist Application that allows the user to input patient data (new or existing) and to prepare a patient’s records for a new exam to be created by the Tablet Application. Hand-written forms are to be scanned in using a desktop scanner and will automatically be saved in an image format with direct relation to the patient and immediately accessible by the physician via the TabletPC.
Transcriptionist Module
The Transcriptionist Application allows for the betterment of overall documentation of the patient assessment. This application allows the in-house personnel to focus energy and time into finalizing (not creating) the true assessment.
With a "Look & Feel" of general Window based applications, the DrTAB Transcription Application has an intuitive flow of which doctors, in which locations have outstanding reports that need to be finalized, enhanced or sent on their way for billing.
The DrTAB Transcription application allows the end-user to manipulate the final report that was generated by the physician via the Tablet PC by instant access to the report. It also allows for the end-user to consider and incorporate audio dictations, video interaction of the patient and high definition photographs of the wound, individual and overall status of the situation. Being able to review this level of documentation is a quantum leap in the reduction of the Revenue Cycle and the level of approved and paid billing codes.
Culture
DrTAB has been built with the sole focus of optimizing the user experience. Our UI’s are so clean and correct that many doctors have laughed at how we “haven’t changed a thing” as to how they want to administer proper patient care. Our software approach is to stay out of the way of the specialist and no matter what…do not dictate workflow to the professional…rather, reflect it.
