Title

Dry Creek Ranch ND - Hunts, Vacations, Memberships, Prairie Habitat, Store

Description

Jim's Great Grandparents emigrated from Norway to Callender, Iowa, in the mid- 1870's where John Sabe was a buggy and carriage maker. In 1907, they moved west to Haley Township in Bowman County, North Dakota. They settled in Section 18 Township 129 Range 99. Jim's Grandfather, Oscar Sabe, began farming and ranching in his teens and Jim's Dad, Odell Sabe, was born in 1931. Odell began his career on the ranch in 1946 and still lives on the ranch.

Conservation has been a big part of the Sabe heritage and respect for the land has always been the #1 priority for the Sabe family. Jim began farming and ranching in 1981 and continued the Sabe tradition by planting more trees. He also set aside some of the land for better habitat for the wildlife and is trying to restore it back to its original beauty, as it was in 1907.

We are preparing for our 100th Anniversary and plan on a big celebration. As you can see, we are a relatively young lineage, but many things have transpired during the past 100 years and the Sabe's have seen a lot of changes.
