The Damai Service Hospital Group commenced in 1981 based on the vision of the founder, Dr. Guna Sittampalam of Providing Excellent & Affordable Care to Everybody (PEACE)
The first hospital with 40 beds was established in the same year and soon became popular in the next decade. The group grew rapidly and in 1989, another 30 bedded hospital was opened in Melawati, followed by the establishment of Seavoy Nursing Home, a 100-bedded nursing home. Rapid expansion was seen in year 1992 (due to increasing demand for its medical services) of which Damai (HQ) reached its peak & began to run as a 60 bedded private hospital.
The group spread its wings further in 1998 with the expansion of a 30 bedded Day Surgical Centre at DSH (HQ) and an association with University Putra Malaysia Medical School. 1998 also saw the establishment of our Damai School of Nursing which is accredited by the Ministry of Health to support the need of trained nursing staff. A year later, Damai Service Hospital (HQ) became accredited to ISO 9002 which reflects our commitment to continuos quality care at international standards.
