As of November 2005, DShield Inc. is a Florida non profit corporation. For details see here (note: DShield Inc is not yet certified as tax exempt).
DShield.org was officially launched end of November 2000. Since then, it has grown to be a dominating attack correlation engine with worldwide coverage.
DShield was initially run by Euclidian Consulting, which still owns the code base behind DShield. Starting in 2001, DShield received substantial support from the SANS Institute, and has become the data collection engine behind the SANS Internet Storm Center.
