Description
Shortly after deregulation of telecommunications of 1996, a number of companies applied for franchises to operate their new telecommunication networks through the City of Dublin, Ohio. While Dublin wanted to encourage telecommunication competition, the thought of numerous overhead lines and underground construction through it's roads and right of way was not appealing. After considering many options, Dublin decided that they wanted a company, at no cost to the City of Dublin, to engineer, build and lease a telecommunications conduit system.
In 1998, Dublin placed a Request for Quote (RFQ) for a contractor to finance, engineer, build, and maintain a conduit system throughout Dublin's business district. Later that year, The Fishel Company, was awarded an exclusive franchise to build DubLink. With news of the award, the conception of Dublink Development Company, was created. Dublink Development Company, is a wholly owned LLC of The Fishel Company.
