dukecarico.com is where I offer my thoughts on today's technology, politics, religion and other topics., I have mentioned a couple of times here about using Joomla! I left my WordPress blog for joomla and basically now I am doing everything I do through joomla! So far no regrets! Yesterday, I decided to install the 1.5 beta version of joomla within a test folder. It was one of those moments when I found myself over at joomla.org, just looking around, and saw the 1.5 beta link and decided today was the day that I was going to check out the 1.5 beta! So without reading a thing, I grab the zip file and install to my computer. I already had a test folder set up on my server to test other joomla components and modules as well as to look at templates I have been building. So I just decided to un-pack into that folder! OOPPPSS! I totally crashed and burned that folder. So I deleted and decided to do a little reading. 1.5 is so much different that it states on joomla's site that you can't overwrite the 1.2 install! So I added back a test folder and installed1.2 back for testing ! I lost everything, but that was what it was for!!!!! Better my test folder than any of my "live" sites. Then I create another test folder, and unpack the contents here. This time, I am more deliberate! I install both within a test folder and locally on my computer.
