Description
An often overlooked and relatively unknown area of France, the Pas de Calais has lots to offer the holiday-maker. It has one major advantage over other parts of France, and that is its proximity to England. Many E-GITES holiday homes are within two hours of the South East of England, which makes this an ideal choice, be it for a couple of day's shopping, a short get-away-from-it-all break, a long weekend or a summer holiday with young children who don't travel well.
It is an area of rolling farm land, wide and sandy beaches, renowned restaurants and an active and developing tourist industry, offering a warm welcome and a wide range of activities for everyone: walkers and wine buffs, golfers and gourmets, families and friends. The climate is similar to Southern England and while not, perhaps, perpetually bathed in sunshine, the area does not suffer from weather extremes.
