Pearson eCollege offers an online learning technology package that colleges and schools can use to facilitate online education programs. ECollege.com, owned by digital publisher Pearson Plc since 2007, started up in 1996 as Real Education Inc. in Denver, Colorado.
Real Education created the online learning operation for University of Colorado, still an eCollege client.
ECollege develops online learning technology for universities, colleges and schools. The company offers its programs as a hosted service, by subscription. Clients include Santa Monica College, Barton County Community College, Texas A&M University Commerce, Northwest Missouri State College, Eastern Michigan University and more.
ECollege also develops programs for K-12 schools and for educational institutions abroad.
