Aetna has modified the systems and processes used in the handling of both initial claim determinations and appeals. Generally, these regulations apply to health claims filed on or after the first day of the first plan year beginning on or after July 1, 2002, but no later than January 1, 2003. Aetna has made certain forms available that Plan Sponsors may find useful.
