Eastcoast Mortgage Company origin began in 1992 with a young group of entrepreneurial bankers discussing the dramatic changes taking place in the banking industry. With the fall of the Savings and Loans the unsucessful bail out ended an era of banking. Savings and Loans were established by the community and owned by the depositors. The end of the Savings and Loans was the end of an era of banking owned by the people and established for the people. Up sprang Commercial Banks owned by the shareholders and ushered in an era of shareholders profits. A time where a banks success was measured by how profitable it could be. During this period the United States Government and individual states implemented a number of programs through, VA, Rural Development and HUD to try to support home ownership. As you can see the mortgage business became a maze of different programs and lenders. With these changes the founders of Eastcoast Mortgage Company saw a need for a Mortgage Broker. Someone that works directly for the customer to find a mortgage package tailor made for one's individual needs.
