Additional Information

This a software developer blog focussed on glitches and snags that persist year after year in software development which would seem to indicate a failure to evolve, to adapt, to change, to innovate.
The focus is what happens when the blob gets a membrane and then tolerates a mitochondrion or two. Call that multi-paradigm. If the new organism knew it had changed it would be meta-level. We dare to mention types in the presence of Smalltalkers and logic programmers and then reassure them that these organelles are optional. Wait a generation. That's just the way it works. And we are watching Diesel and Whirlwind emerge from Cecil and Vortex. And watching Io and trans emerge as languages. And keeping an eye on oz/Mozart and Curl and Rebol. And wondering if Anvil is supposed to work. And what became of EZY Prolog. And where is Actor Prolog going. And Slate. With Chalk.
We have sympathies with Smalltalk/X and Squeak and Dolphin but are apr to be caught using Visual Works to earn a living. While wanting to use Amzi should any occasion present itself. And keep explaining that Mercury is kinda Borland Turbo Prolog in a way even if PDC Visual Prolog is what became of Borland Turbo Prolog.
And we expound the virtues of Logtalk.
Logiquewerks.com is were we do our work on ClasspathCanuck and make-config.net is were we struggle for the Aufhebung that lifts us beyond make in the world of GNU. Go configure.
At the Portal: SmalltalkProlog we are exploring what it means for Smalltalk and Prolog to mutate, cross-pollinate, to be grafted or otherwise evolve. To survive. To live on in the next generation. To be among the 100-year languages.
