Eco-USA is an outgrowth of a site called EcoIndiana. EcoIndiana was launched as a personal web site in February 1996 and its focus was on providing basic information about Indiana's Superfund sites. The site grew and soon included material on toxics, photos of animals and plants, natural area profiles, and a directory of environmental organizations. After a while I ran out of server space and sought another provider who could provide more space and would not charge for traffic. At the same time, I began to expand the scope of the site, mostly because I wanted to post photos I had taken in the Everglades. The new site does cost more money and that is why I've added links to a variety of environmentally related products on most of the pages. If you don't like the ads, try to ignore them, and I'll try to keep them relatively unobtrusive. Finally, please keep in mind that while I've made every effort to provide accurate information and reference it properly, nothing on this site should be taken as a substitute for the expertise of a qualified environmental professional.
