Description
The Foundation was created to establish a scholarship program for the financially needy students of Eastern Europe. The grandparents of the incorporator of the Foundation emigrated to the United States from Slovakia and Croatia in the early 20th Century. Relatives of the incorporator also emigrated from other countries of Eastern Europe. Education has allowed each succeeding generation to improve lifestyles in America. Therefore, in order to help the young people of Eastern Europe get established, particularly after the downfall of Communism, the Foundation has been centered around education as the key to success. Consequently, the scholarship program was established to be based upon academic ability, participation in school activities, and financial need.
Scholarship programs will be limited to partial tuition, books, and room & board payments for public schools in the countries of Eastern Europe. A donor will have the choice of designating
The Eastern Europe Peoples Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit, tax exempt, charitable organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. No Member of the Board of Directors is paid any compensation whatsoever, nor are any expenses of the Board Members reimbursed by the Foundation. All Board Members donate their time freely.
