Elamb.org Alert about hacks and scams

Title

Information Security Awareness & howtos

Description

Excerpted from the website:

Welcome to eLamb.org.

My name is Rob Elamb. I have been doing security for the federal government for 10 years.

I set up a lab to learn more about malware, hacking, penetration testing, operating system and other information technology stuff I am obsessed with. I do not have the programming skills to be a "real hacker" but I do know a thing or two and I know how to explain things in layman terms because its the only way I can understand certain concepts myself.

Expertise: I have several security/IT certifications and degrees: BS/IT, CISSP, Security+, A+, Network+, MCP and some other stuff. Realistically, all certs mean is that a person is pretty decent at taking a test. In Information Technology, experience is what really gives you stripes. Certifications just get you a 90 day evaluation at a corporation.

I've done a little of everything in security, but my specialty is certification & accreditation (diacap, ditscap, ssaa, eitdr, sissu, IAO, IAM, IT LEAN).

The main reason I started doing this was to talk to others who do what I do, learn more about the art of hacking stuff (NOT illegally) and to help people who are new to Information technology & security. So far, I've been able to help a few with malicious hacks and scams:

"THANK YOU VERY MUCH. I WENT TO MY BANK AND FILLED OUT THAT FORM. THEY SAID I WOUL GET MY MONEY FOR THE LAST 2 MONTHS BACK. SHE SAID THE SAME THING HAPPEN TO SOME ONE ELSE AT MY BANK. YOU MAY USE MY STATEMENT. THESE PEOPLE HAVE GOT TO BE STOPPED. THANKS AGAIN"

"Thank you so much for your response back. EZ-1-rate just stole that Monday from my account last week. I sure hope I

can get it back."
