Title

Electric Blues Club - Musicians Online Resource

Description

The Electric Blues Club was formed as a non-profit voluntary group in Enfield, North London, UK, by musicians and friends who, fed up with the lack of local venues and music facilities decided to form a club where they could all meet. Some months of planning, advertising and organising later, the club was launched on the 19th Jan 1998 to explore how we could improve the situation. The Club thrived and grew rapidly and within a month of it's conception, was soon attracting 50 - 100+ people every week to it's regular Monday night blues/rock jams.

Conceived, Organised & Hosted by Tracey (aka Roxi), her experience, drive & enthusiasm reflected the rapid growth and popularity of the Club. A combination of excellent house musicians, special guests and enthusiastic amateurs, versatile improvisations, dynamic voices, helpful volunteers and a 'NO EGOs' policy, created a unique friendly atmosphere of warmth, encouragement & incredibly good music. Original Bands and Artists, Blues, Jazz, Rock, Metal, Folk & Soul sit side by side, combinations of covers and originals from musicians travelling across the country to participate, meet, chat & have fun.

Unfortunately, due to a conflict of interests the club moved to temporary premises and roved for a couple of months between the Coach Arms in Enfield and The Fox in Palmers Green until Enfield Council who had already recognised our efforts could provide us with a new venue at Forty Hall.
