- I took my little proton exchange membrane fuel cell and turned it into a mobile phone charger (what else?) I added a little switchmode power supply to turn the 1.2 or so volts from the fuel cell into the four volts needed to charge a Nokia phone, slimmed down the hardware a little bit and got this:
