Wholly owned by Chandler Enterprises, Inc., Elk Creek Internet was founded in 1997 as the Internet consulting firm IForce.Net, Inc. The company was renamed Chandler Enterprises, Inc. in 1999 when IForce.Net was sold to Sun Micro Systems of San Jose, CA.
In 1999, Chandler Enterprises launched one of the countries first fully automated, Windows based, web hosting services CEHOST.COM. At the time CEHost was launched, most web hosting was through Internet Service Providers with no background in web development on the Windows platform. Making changes to a web sites configuration often required phone calls to understaffed technical support teams with little or no knowledge in web programming. Our breakthrough automated solution gave the control to our business users, and allowed us to offer great pricing on leading edge solutions.
As we continued to build on our business service success in the Louisville market, we realized there was a need for an affordable and reliable, small business and residential Internet service in our community, Taylorsville and Spencer County, KY. Many of the technologies and techniques we built into our hosting product were applied to automating our Internet service. The automation of our Internet service allows customers to sign-up online, view online statistics, and manage passwords and email accounts.
