- As of today ECHD has received a total of 29 reports of residents finding dead birds, however none of them has been a crow or bluejay. We have sent 249 vials consisting of over 9500 mosquitos to the state for testing, only 3 vial has been positive for West Nile Virus. Across the state, only 9 counties have had positive mosquitos. A Butler County resident is the one reported human case of West Nile Virus in Ohio. Residents are urged to continue individual efforts to avoid mosquito bites, and eliminate mosquito breeding sites.
