Description
On 1 November 1989 all or part of 25 authorities were amalgamated to form the regional council. As a regional council, Environment Bay of Plenty promotes the sustainable management of our natural and physical resources for present and future generations. As caretakers of our land, air and water, regional councils monitor effects of human activities on our environment. This sometimes means limiting or controlling the use of our resources. Environment Bay of Plenty plans and liaises with various Bay of Plenty communities to create policies and priorities.
