ESCOM Corporation is an Oakton, Virginia engineering company, founded in 1988, specializing in secure computer and secure network technologies. ESCOM has provided security consulting services directly to customers such as the National Security Agency, Honeywell Federal, Computer Sciences Corporation, and Network Associates. ESCOM has also supported computer security evaluations of mainstream products such as IBM's AIX system and Novell's Netware.
Our founder, Al Donaldson, has over 15 years of experience in computer and network security products. This included positions as CSC's technical lead on NASA's Restricted Access Processor (RAP) and Verdix's project manager for the development of the Verdix Secure Local Area Network (VSLAN). The VSLAN was the first network component evaluated under the NSA's Trusted Product Evaluation Program (TPEP) at the National Computer Security Center (NCSC) and was the foundation for Cryptek's DiamondTEK security product.
Recently, ESCOM has applied the principles of network security to the problem of junk e-mail filtering. Our patented Active SMTP (ASMTP) technology provides dynamic filtering is available as software for customers to install on Red Hat Linux platforms.
