Description

Evryware started by creating several games in the early 1980's for the then popular CPM home computers. These games used alphanumeric characters in various combinations to create rough graphics.They switched to the IBM PC when it was first released. Their first PC game was Sierra Championship Boxing, which featured ground-breaking animation for the time.

Under Broaderbund, Evryware created the Ancient Art of War trilogy based upon the book of war by Sun Tzu. The trilogy earned numerous awards and some consider it the basis for many strategy games today.

Evryware created the darkly themed Manhunter New York, (Sierra) The popularity of this game prompted them to come out with the sequel Manhunter San Francisco. The Manhunter series was known for its "real-world" locations and unique game play. Manhunter: New York won the 1988 Game of the Year award.
