Hi, my name's Eric Sturgeon and I'm the creator of EWS. I'm responsible for the web design and writing all of the material on EWS.

I started EWS when I was only 14 years old in 1996. These were the very early days of the Internet, before personal broadband Internet access and even before Google if you can imagine that. I created my first web page on a free server about my interests and my favorite music artists. As I added more and more content, I was thrilled to see that people were actually visiting my site. In response, I added more and more music content like charts, release dates, pictures, etc. The next web site I made was a collection of my favorite jokes.

Wanting a way to connect my two sites, I created "EWS" in 1997 - short for Eric's Web Sites for lack of a better name. I created several new sections after that. I made everything from chat rooms to a web site for my favorite clothing designer, Tommy Hilfiger, since they didn't yet have a site of their own.
