National Property Consulting Group (NPC) was founded in the spring of 2004 by Tim E. Meisel and Rick J. Riess as Express Property Assessments, LLC. Tim and Rick had been working at a large international engineering and environmental consulting company since the mid-1990's. Together they worked on small and large scale engineering and environmental projects across the United States and Canada for clients such as Circuit City, Family Dollar, Federal Mogul, Ryder Truck Rental, Bank of America, Southern Nuclear Company, GSA, Apartment Investment and Management Company's (AIMCO), GE Capital and several other national and world-wide companies.
Tim and Rick had a vision of creating their own consulting company that would be completely client-focused and began to evaluate the engineering and environmental consulting market to see if there was a potential for them to form a small to midsize company with similar services that would allow them to focus more on the needs of their clients. They began forming their new company and opened the doors for business in June of 2004.
The business grew quickly, many of their clients came with them and in May of 2005, EXPRESS made a key acquisition to the company when Peter W. Madson, a Structural Engineer, with over 12 years of experience in engineering consulting, joined the company as a part owner. In October of 2005, EXPRESS changed its name to National Property Consulting Group as a result of their increasing client base and geographic service areas.
