I don’t know if you have ever tried to convince a native English language speaker of how hard it is to learn the language from scratch. I have on more than one occassion and usually with little success.
English is one of the most difficult languages to master, as it often has contradictory rules that may or may not apply and then offers a large number of words with multiple and usually unrelated meanings. Just think “Spring”.
