About Us
Face The World (FTW) is an educational and cultural exchange organization headquartered in San Rafael, California. FTW has brought thousands of students from across the globe to live and share cultures with American host families. Our mission is to provide all participants--students, host families, schools, and host communities--with a meaningful experience that promotes global awareness and cultural understanding. Our students and host families find that they make friendships that will last a lifetime.
FTW works with a select group of educational travel organizations worldwide. Together, we screen each student with an extensive application process, which includes reviewing their academic, medical, and family background. In addition, all students are interviewed in person. Their acceptance in the program is based on their overall academic and social suitability for program.
FTW's organizational structure is comprised of a network of Regional Managers, Community Representatives, and a National Office Staff who are trained in the philosophy and guidelines of the program. A Community Representative is responsible for interviewing and selecting suitable Host Families, working with local high schools, and supervising the international students placed in their area.
