Fairhope German Shepherds
Description
When we decided it was time to move off our trimaran "Fairhope" (after 12 years), we took time looking for the German Shepherd Dog that was right for us. We decided on a CheckMarc x Storm Biscuit pup. Unfortunately, Willie was born with genetic problems and died at 10 months. Learning about genetic diseases, good breeding and the unique personality of the GSD were the gifts that Willie gave us , for which we will be eternally grateful. They became the impetus for a breeding program to help further the breed. It has been 12 years since we brought Willie home, 12 years of observing, reading, traveling, researching and listening.
After Willie died, we looked and picked the #1 pup of the repeat litter of Ch Covy-Tucker Hills Storm Brier ROM, CD x Karizma's Timber of Brier Hill, ROM The preceding litters had already developed Champions and the temperaments, intelligence and health of the preceding litters impressed us. Learning about movement, we found that Moxie, our pick, had a nice movement, clean coming and going, but not extreme in her gait. We also discovered that her structure and lines were of Championship quality. So we became part of the show crowd, as well as the obedience ring. As one is never enough and as we weren't knowledgeable enough to begin a breeding program yet, we chose another Stormy x Timber pup the following year. Sassy developed into a beautiful animal and was placed in a great home in the Imperial Valley, where her competitive nature and great sense of humor were appreciated.
