Fairview Farm is located beyond Austin, Colorado which is located on the west side of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. We are west of Denver by 5.5 to 6 hours via I-70. Just over 2 hours from Aspen or Telluride. The closest major airport is Montrose or Grand Junction, Colorado. Over looking the Gunnison River and valley floor to the south with the backdrop of the Grand Mesa to the north, Fairview Farm is an ideal area to raise horses. With mild Colorado winters and an extended growing season, our area produces some of the finest horse hay in Colorado.
The objective of Fairview Farm is to breed and raise horses, that you would want to Foxhunt, event or show. They shall be of quality and will be of sound mind and body. After many years, many types, and breeds of horses, Cleveland Bays proved to be the answer. Cleveland Bays both pure and part breds can and do meet the above criteria. Crossed with Thoroughbreds they have the drive, elegance, and stamina to match or best Warmbloods and the temperament that most Thoroughbreds need and lack.
The pure breds won't match the speed of Thoroughbreds but will outlast them in hunt field or cross country. With so few pures in the world today (less than 150 in North America) their potential is just coming to be measured.
