The Safety Pass Pro device works on most heavy trucks including Freightliner, Kenworth, Volvo, International (Navistar), Mack, Peterbilt, Iveco, Man Trucks, Daf and others with the following engines, Caterpillar, Detroit, Cummins, Volvo Detroit/Mercedes/Chrysler, International, Paccar and Iveco. This device does not work on pick-up trucks nor does it work on Mack Engines. However, it will work on Mack Trucks with one of the engines mentioned above.
The SafetyPass Pro comes with a discreet installation kit which connects to the vehicle sensor connectors and has been designed for covert installation and operation. No one knows it's operating except the truck driver. This is also true if the truck is Satellite equipped. No tracks are ever left in the truck computer either. When the device is operated according to included instructions, it is totally undetectable by electronic means and ECM Reports.
The Safety Pass Pro empowers the driver with the ability to deactivate the computer speed governor instantly. This allows the truck driver to maintain the safest possible speed for all given traffic conditions and emergencies. This extra speed allows big rig drivers to pass slower vehicles more quickly on two lane road thus reducing the risk of a head-on accident with oncoming traffic.
On Freeways, when two trucks with nearly the same speed limiter settings try to pass each other it can take up to 15 minutes to complete a safe pass. During this time, two 40 ton vehicles are running side-by-side creating a stressful situation for both truck drivers. Meanwhile, the fast lane of the freeway has been effectivley blocked by the large vehicles.
Faster traffic, travelling at reasonable freeway speeds are now forced to wait behind the two slower big trucks. As more traffic bunches up behind the two big rigs waiting to get around, a dangerous a potentially deadly situation begins to develope... Road Rage! The longer it takes, the more angry they become.
Impatient drivers will begin to take chances, like passing on the shoulder, tailgating, honking their horn, flashing their lights. They are not aware that speed limiter's are causing the problem. They blame the truck driver when it's not his or her fault at all. They just want to get where they're going at a reasonable speed but are now blocked by two big trucks that have speed limiters that have been set too low by the employer for the sole purpose of increasing trucking company profitability without regard to public safety.
