Title
Feasta: The Foundation for the Economics of Sustainability
Description
Feasta is a charity founded in October 1998 by ordinary people who are not satisfied with the prevailing view that economic growth is an end in itself and must be fostered at all costs regardless of the social and environmental consequences.
The word feasta, pronounced "fasta", is taken from the Irish poem that laments the end of the Irish forests and means 'in the future'.
Feasta aims to explore and promote the characteristics - economic, cultural and environmental - that a society must have in order to be truly sustainable. It aims to publish the results of its research as widely as possible so that people can begin to change the way they think and the way they live.
