- Worldwide Faith Missions was founded by Dr. Johannes (Joe) Maas in 1972, following a world tour for the Wesleyan Missionary Council, for which he was the President. Having spoken to a convention in India attended by 10,000 people, and seeing so many starving children, homeless widows, and sacrificial pastors and evangelists laboring under great difficulties and little support, he pledged to sponsor 25 homeless children, to be operated by a respected pastor.
